THE Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), is a giant of a company which distributes electricity to the states of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa.
FOUR days ago, MOST of the electricity appliances in my house in Katsina metropolis have been DESTROYED. All electrical appliances in the house have been DESTROYED by the unexpected increased SURGE of electricity. The only things NOT affected by this surge are those that have electricity STABILISERS (REGULATORS) connected to them.
IF this UNFORTUNATE incident were to happen in developed countries, the electricity company would have been forced to take responsibility for all the DAMAGE caused by the unexpected power SURGE.
NOT in Nigeria, where the JUDICIARY is NEVER ‘the LAST HOPE of the COMMON person’. If anything, most of the Nigerian JUDICIARY, are the beginning of the PROBLEM of the COMMON person, as a popular saying goes.
NIGERIA is a country where MIGHT is ALWAYS right, and the HAVES always HAVE their WAY in MOST of the COURTS, the TRUTHFUL is ALWAYS found ‘guilty’. It is a country where the chicken thief is jailed for at least six months, while the one who stole BILLIONS of the PEOPLE’S Money is given an ELASTIC BAIL, which will never end.
BESIDES, even if some of the COURTS were going to do the right thing, the PRESENT regime would rather have it done otherwise, so that some people will have their ACCOUNTS swelled up by ILLEGAL money. It is the practice at the MOMENT in Nigeria.
IN any case, on these shores, as in most places, they do not come any MIGHTIER or RICHER than COMPANIES. So KEDCO would do as it PLEASES at some of the places of its mandate, without the FEAR of a SERIOUS CONSEQUENCE from the COURTS.
AND two days ago, the wires supplying ELECTRICITY to my house were SEVERED (CUT) by KEDCO, for NOT sending the “TOKEN”, out of the N35,000 that I am supposed to PAY MONTHLY, “which is usually EXPECTED FROM YOU”. Some three years and a few months ago, my ELECTRICITY METER was CUNNINGLY STOLEN by the staff of KEDCO, who claimed that it had ‘spoiled’ and that they were going to repair and return it. Since they did not meet me at home, they had their way.
IN the past, I have written articles about KEDCO too numerous to mention, what remains is to SAY a loud ‘ALLAH YA ISA’.
MEANWHILE, my PENSION providers (more like my Pension SCAMMERS) have, as USUAL, send an SMS, informing me that, my “BALANCE as at the end of the 3rd quarter is N2,956. 290.03.” The PROBLEM, as is ALWAYS the case, is that the line from which the SMS was sent was a CLOSED one, in which case, one was ONLY being informed for their information, but NOT for the purpose of taking any money from the amount.
THIS is about the fifth (5th) time I have written an article about my PENSION. The first time, I titled the article, ‘PENSION SCHEME, OR PENSION SCAM?’, and it was written on 13/1/2025.
AND I will CONTINUE doing so OCCASIONALLY, until I get what is my due (an apparently impossible task under the present CORRUPT regime) or whatever is necessary payable.
SINCE poor people like me do NOT have money or power, we will resort to the STRONG person’s prayer by leaving everything to God to adjudicate for us in the hereafter. The last Prophet and Messenger, Muhammadu (SAW), says that, “the STRONGEST among you is NOT he who has the most power, or the most money, but the one who is CLOSEST to Allah in PIETY”.
MAY God get what is our legitimate due from the many SCAMMERS that come to us in the GUISE of REFORMIST.
